The Breakfast Club Final Thoughts

First, I’d like to thank everyone who read Jasmine Ross the Rebel’s tale of being the sixth member of The Breakfast Club.  For those of you unaware, which is probably a lot of you, The Breakfast Club Jasmine’s adventures took place in was an interactive story adaptation of the classic 80s movie called Series which, unfortunately, isn’t available anymore.  In the movie, which I’m sure many of you have seen, five high school stereotypes spend a Saturday in detention and, throughout the movie, learn to get to know that each one is more than the label placed on them.  The first time I saw the movie was after it got mentioned in a Heroes comic story. The second time was when I downloaded this game and played this story. My friend, bloodrosered who also requested this, wrote her own fanfic from it called Beauty and the Brain.

Cyberbang 2069 Johnny Silverhand Demo

Just finished my first playthrough of Cyberbang 2069 and decided to check out the Johnny Silverhand demo because, if it weren’t for him I wouldn’t have played Cyberpunk 2077 for reasons I’ll reveal at another time. Anyway, remember that sidequest where V took a brain scan from a dealer and got kidnapped? Well, this is how this story starts off. You even get to customize V with names, weapons, gender and background! I put my real name, though I don’t know how anyone would get V from Corrine. Johnny also looks really good in this game and I really wish I could post a picture, but the picture I took blacked out. Really looking forward to playing through the whole story when it comes out!

Uncharted Tides: Port Royal Beta Test

When Mary Jane receives a message telling her that she might find her missing father, she sets sail and makes a new thief friend named Jack.  Can they find her long lost father or is this a trap set up by a clever villain?

The story is one of a pirate adventure starring the characters of Mary Jane and Jack.  Honestly, it didn’t really interest me but, after Shadowplay, it might have had a tough act to follow.  Mary Jane is the typical tomboy pirate while Jack is the typical thief.  A pirate named Jack, now where have we heard that before?  Yes, there’s a mystery about what happened to Mary Jane’s father but, in all honesty, it just doesn’t interest me.

The game play is typical hidden object with you searching various locations for items that you can use to help progress through the game.  Some items require you to participate in a hidden object scene.  You sometimes have to play mini-games in order to advance and, if you’re stuck, you can use the rechargeable hint.  I often found myself using that hint though I don’t know whether it’s because I couldn’t remember where anything was supposed to go, or I just didn’t care enough to fully participate in the game.

This game is average at best.  I have no interest in buying the full game when it comes out.

Cold Call (Star Trek Online)

A/N: Melana’s back and, this time, she recounts how she helped defend the Deferi from the Breen.  I also created a page for my Star Trek Online characters so, if you want to request a Star Trek Online Captain’s Log from me or team up with one of my characters for a mission, you can use it as a reference.

Major General’s Log Stardate 95751.44

I just got a call from the Deferi and, apparently, they want the HAR’NUC for a diplomatic mission.  He told me that he understands a warrior of the Klingon Empire would find diplomacy an unworthy task, but he believes that I’m the best person for the job.  Honey, I’ll take any job if it pays. However, in this case, it doesn’t really matter because the High Council already agreed to send a representative. He then proceeds to tell us that the Deferi have been friends of the Empire since the time of Emperor Sompek, and that they’d be happy to assist his fleet in a time of need.  They’re also very grateful for our loyalty to them over the years. Then, finally, he tells me to go to the Defera system.

As soon as the transmission ended, I headed for that very system.  My crew’s not happy about being part of a diplomatic mission, but I explained that these missions never go the way we expect.  For all we know, there might be enemies wanting to sabotage this very one. Trust me when I say that cheered them up.

Anyway, the minute we arrived, Thraak pointed out the obvious and then performed the standard sensor sweeps.  He said that he didn’t like the look of this and advised me to proceed with caution. Then he told me that the Jeska’s standing by for the approach to Defera and asked if we should begin our escort.  You can bet that I said yes and Ambassador Surah greeted me as an honored ally. I’m definitely an ally, but I doubt that I’d call myself honorable. He told me that his people appreciate the Empire’s willingness to meet with them in these trying times.

Afterwards, our mission was just escorting the Jeska toward Defera.  I have to agree with my crew on this, it seems a little boring for members of the KDF.  So I can’t blame K’Gan for getting excited when he picked up a warp signature that he couldn’t identify.  The reason is that the ship warped out before we could get a lock on it. Thraak explained that it was because the ship was running a subspace jammer.  However, the mysterious ship still left a residual warp signature, and we might learn more from a detailed scan. Unfortunately, that same jamming technology kept us from getting a lock on the warp trail.

Anyway, we continued escorting the Jeska until Deferi Space Security contacted us.  They explained that they have to identify our credentials and verify that we’re the correct ship before they can give us access to Defera.  I told them that, with the Undine running around, I don’t blame them. Then I asked them if they needed assistance. They told me that they didn’t need it, but appreciated the offer.  After completing their scans, they asked for our clearance code before I could establish orbit around Defera. So I gave it. Then, Ambassador Surah contacted us again and thanked us for the protection and escort.  He said that our readiness to aid them against potential enemies is a mark of honor. Yeah, honey, I really don’t have any. Then I said that we might be able to learn about this strange ship later. Right now, we need to discuss the possibility of mutual protection and assistance between our two peoples.  Ambassador Surah said that his attaché will send me the planetary coordinates between for transport, and that they’ll take us to one of their famous historical parks and preservation sites. He said that he trusts that we’ll find Defera impressive and that, when we’re ready to talk, to meet him on the steps of the historic tower.  Then he gave me directions to said tower. Thraak told me that he received the coordinates from the Jeska and asked if I was ready to beam down to the planet. I told him I was more than ready, so we beamed down.

We met Ambassador Surah right where he said he would be.  I asked him a few questions about the Deferi, the ruins, the balance and the preservers.  I have to say, it was actually quite interesting.

As soon as Ambassador Surah was finished, Ch’gren told me that the Breen were warping in.  Let me say, it made my crew very happy. Next thing I know, my away team and I are searching the location for the Breen and that includes the ruins.  They put up a fight, but we managed to defeat them in the end. After we cleared out the Breen, their leader, Thot Wen, contacted me. He called me a Klingon, which means he needs to get his eyes checked.  Then he talked about how our Empire desires war. Thot Wen said that they will have the Preserver secrets and destroy anyone who tries to stop them. He beamed down with his own group, but he was no match for me and my away team.  However, I’ll admit that he put up a good fight.

After the fight, Ambassador Surah contacted me again.  He said that it’s not safe for him to remain here, obviously.  He said that he’ll return to the Jeska and called me an honored ally.  First time someone’s ever called me that in my life. Thraak contacted me to warn me that there are more ships warping in.  So my away team and I need to beam back right away.

As soon as my away team beamed back on board, K’Gan told me that the Breen are attacking the Jeska.  I immediately took action and went into battle. It took awhile but we managed to defeat all four squadrons of Breen ships.  Thraak said his piece by telling us the Breen have no honor but they are cunning. If they’re attacking the Deferi, then they must have reasons that the Deferi won’t tell us.  Thraak then talked about the stories we’ll have to tell people on Qo’noS. After all, not many people can say that they fought the Breen and lived to tell the tale.

We didn’t have much time to celebrate due to the Jeska captain hailing us.  He thanked us for our help, and then told us that the Jeska took some damage, but it’s nothing that a few days in spacedock won’t fix.  He told me that I do my Empire honor by assisting them. Honey, it’s not my empire. I’m only in it because I needed more skills than just pheromones.  Then Ambassador Surah contacted us and explained that he hasn’t been completely honest with me. Apparently, his actions are out of balance with the universe.  He apologized for being secretive but his people felt that it was the best course of action. Ambassador Surah explained that many years ago, in the time of Emperor Sompek, they assisted a Klingon fleet that was heavily damaged in an attempt to explore the badlands.  The Deferi helped them repair their ships and heal their wounded. In exchange, the emperor promised to give them the Empire’s assistance if the Deferi ask. Well, the Deferi are cashing in for the KDF to help them with the Breen, who’ve been attacking Deferi ships and colonies.  The Breen already killed hundreds of Deferi and they need our help to save them from genocide. Ambassador Surah said that he must see to the safety of his people now, but asked me to contact him after I’ve left Deferi space. Then he told me that he can only hope that my help will tip the balance in their favor.

I left the system and contacted Ambassador Surah.  He said that we’ll speak again and he hopes that I can repair the balance and save his people from the Breen.  Then he called me an honored ally and ended the transmission. After that, I contacted J’mpok and told him that we destroyed the Breen in this sector.  J’mpok said that we should’ve destroyed the Breen at the end of the Dominion war and pointed out that we now have a second chance. He said that the Deferi are honorable, but also weak.  So you can bet that they require our protection. He told me to show them the benefits of being sheltered under the wings of the Empire. J’mpok suspected that the Breen are probably looking for slaves to work their mines and serve on their starships.  I immediately said, with a little more passion than I intended, that we have to stop the Breen. J’mpok agreed with me but only because he can’t conceive of the Deferi serving anyone other than the Empire. Then told me to teach the Breen the error of their ways and hung up, leaving  me to wonder if, by saving the Deferi from slavery by the Breen, am I just opening them up to become slaves to the Empire?

A/N: So, what did you think?  Feel free to request a Captain’s Log or team up with one of my characters.  You can also Role-Play in the comments with a Star Trek character, if you wish.

Star Trek Online Plans to add DS9 Characters

For those of you who play Star Trek Online, I’m sure you’re well-aware that, this summer, there will be a new expansion called Victory is Life.

It’s bringing back DS9 characters and introducing a new faction! I’m sure many of you are curious as to who the character silhouettes are. I will tell you that people in Germany already figured out two of them and Hashakgig1106 already sent me a link of the German article.

I’ll admit, I can’t read a word of it, but I recognize the two characters they revealed in Germany that they didn’t reveal in America for some reason. Anyway, what do you think? Are you excited about the new content or wary of it? Do you even play Star Trek Online? I know that I need to start catching up on this game quick!
